Notice of Public Hearing: 425 Agreement

FRUITPORT CHARTER TOWNSHIP

PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing will be held by the Fruitport Charter Township Board at its meeting on March 10, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at the Township Hall, 5685 Airline Road, Fruitport, Michigan, to consider entering into a Contract for Conditional Transfer of Jurisdiction with the City of Muskegon pursuant to Public Act 425 of 1984 of Public Acts of Michigan. The subject parcel, Parcel ID # 61-15-102-200-0001-00, consists of approximately 28 acres in the administrative limits of the Township that is contiguous to property in the Port City Industrial Park in the City of Muskegon’s administrative limits. The subject parcel is currently owned fee simple by the City of Muskegon and is desired for expansion of the Port City Industrial Park. The site is the previous location of the West Shore Correctional Facility, which has been demolished and cleared by the City of Muskegon since taking ownership of the parcel. The proposed Contract for Conditional Transfer of Jurisdiction would conditionally transfer jurisdiction of the subject parcel to the City of Muskegon for a period of 50 years.

 

All interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard at the above hearing or may submit written comments before the hearing date to the Township Clerk at 5685 Airline Road, Fruitport, Michigan, or may submit comments via email to [email protected].
